Jackie Burke, executive director of the New Jersey Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools (NJCCVTS) has been named to ROI-NJ’s Power List: 2024 for Associations & Organizations.
The publication honored Burke and the NJCCVTS for “actively recruiting, teaching and training the next-generation workforce.”

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Charles Powell, Assistant Superintendent at Mercer County Technical Schools in Trenton, NJ as the 2027 ACTE Region I Administrator of the Year. This award recognizes administrative career and technical education (CTE) professionals at the school, district, county, state or federal level who have demonstrated leadership in ensuring teacher and student success and have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and effective career and technical education programs.
New Jersey’s first Coast Guard Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (CGJROTC) is coming to Cape May County Technical High School (Cape Tech). The new four-year program will launch next academic year and offer Cape Tech students a unique opportunity to explore careers in the Coast Guard and maritime industries and develop leadership and citizenship skills critical for any college or career path.
