The publication honored Burke and the NJCCVTS for “actively recruiting, teaching and training the next-generation workforce.”

The Hunterdon County Vocational School District (HCVSD) is proud to announce that Dr. Todd Bonsall, Superintendent of Schools, has been selected by his fellow superintendents as the 2026 Hunterdon County Superintendent of the Year. This prestigious honor recognizes exemplary leadership, innovation and dedication to advancing educational opportunities for students throughout Hunterdon County and the State of New Jersey.
A record-setting 367 students set to graduate this month from New Jersey’s county vocational-technical high schools have already earned an associate degree. This year’s total increased over last year’s by 30 associate degree recipients, indicating greater awareness among New Jersey high school students and their families about the range of educational opportunities provided by the county-based technical schools.
From classroom to cockpit, Atlantic County Institute of Technology’s (ACIT) Aviation Studies program is launching junior student Andrew Merlock into the prestigious Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) Flight Academy. Merlock will continue to train for and earn his private pilot certification over the summer break. His selection highlights ACIT’s expanding role in preparing students for aviation and aerospace careers through hands-on, industry-connected learning.
