Even before he could drive, Kennedy Chukwuocha knew he wanted to work in sports medicine. So, the aspiring health provider chose to study Sports Medicine at Burlington County Institute of Technology’s (BCIT) Medford Campus – a decision that greatly impacted his professional career.
“From taping up teammates during AAU basketball tournaments to caring for fellow student athletes at BCIT Medford’s Sports Med program, my journey toward a Doctor of Physical Therapy began early,” said Chukwuocha. He applied what he learned in high school to become a certified personal trainer at a young age.
Once Chukwuocha, a Willingboro native, graduated from BCIT in 2012, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Felician University. He then attended Thomas Jefferson University and received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Chukwuocha also participated in an educational exchange program, spending time in Sagamihara, Japan to connect with health professionals from around the world.
Today, he works for Big League Performance and Rehab and Inova Health System in Washington, D.C. Chukwuocha is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association.
He also helps athletes improve their performance and reach their full potential through his tech-driven fitness company, Rock the Doc.
Chukwuocha credits his education at BCIT for helping him develop his passion and motivation to assist athletes in their time of need.
“I challenge conventional norms in the Physical Therapy world,” he said. “I provide value to athletes worldwide, reflecting my commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering excellence in physical therapy.”
