The Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT) proudly announced the grand opening of a major new expansion at its Westampton Campus, a state-of-the-art, 39,000-square-foot addition made possible by funding from New Jersey’s Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act. This $14 million investment represents a significant commitment to career and technical education, providing students with modernized spaces and cutting-edge equipment that directly align with today’s industry demands.
This expansion dramatically enhances three of BCIT’s flagship programs, giving students a competitive edge:
- Automotive Technology: The new shop features the latest diagnostic equipment, hybrid vehicle bays, and specialized tools, preparing students for the rapid evolution of the automotive industry.
- Heavy Equipment & Diesel Technology: A new 10,000-square-foot shop allows students to work on a full range of diesel engines and heavy machinery, providing invaluable hands-on experience.
- Global Business & Supply Chain Management: Modern classrooms with integrated technology and collaborative workspaces simulate real-world logistics and business environments.

This significant milestone comes on the heels of another exciting achievement: BCIT’s recent acceptance into the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, a prestigious national network that recognizes districts committed to educational innovation.
The grand opening ceremony brought together students, staff, board members, county officials, and industry partners who celebrated BCIT’s role as a leader in career and technical education. Distinguished guests in attendance included Senator Troy Singleton, Commissioner Tyler Burrell, Commissioner Randy Brolo, Assemblywoman Andrea Katz, Assemblyman Balvir Singh, and Acting Executive County Superintendent Thomas Braddock, reflecting the strong support of state and county leadership.
The event also included tours of the new facilities and a reception with hors d’oeuvres prepared and served by the culinary students, showcasing their skills.
