Pfizer, Inc. - Business Partner of the Year

Morris County Vocational School District has recognized Pfizer, Inc. for committing – even during the company’s extremely busy period of the COVID-19 vaccine development – to support many of its career programs.

Members of the vaccine team visited with students to discuss the science behind the COVID-19 vaccine and answer questions. For multiple years, Pfizer employees also have led students in the animal science; biotechnology; math, science & engineering; and health care sciences full-time academies in an interactive Drug Discovery presentation and simulation game. Pfizer employees guided students through the game and then answered questions for the full group about all aspects of the Pfizer organization, including research and development, packaging and supply chain, information technology and more.

Pfizer employees from multiple sites and areas of operation also have volunteered on several program advisory boards and mentored students through internships. Mike Tomasco, vice president, digital manufacturing at Pfizer Digital, and his team established an especially strong relationship with the Academy for Math Science & Engineering, hosting senior interns for the past three years.

Currently, Pfizer employees are consulting with the district on the design of a new state-of-the-art biotechnology lab for its Academy of Biotechnology.
