High Tech High School’s Design and Fabrication Academy has established a partnership with STS Aerospace, a company that produces fluid conveyance products for commercial and military aircraft, as well as for the energy, space and marine industries. The partnership was initiated through High Tech alumna Angelique Rivera, who graduated in 2018 from Mr. Gregory Simon’s architecture program and now works as a Manufacturing Engineer at STS Aerospace.
Hudson County Schools of Technology recently recognized STS Aerospace as its 2025 Business Partner of the Year.
Through this partnership, students have access to hands-on industry experience, including internships that expose them to aerospace engineering, manufacturing processes and quality control practices. STS Aerospace also provides curriculum support by participating in advisory meetings for the school’s Engineering Technology program. In addition, representatives meet with teachers and students to offer mentorship, career guidance and opportunities for students to pursue industry-recognized credentials.
Rivera’s involvement has expanded the connection between the district and STS Aerospace. What began as a relationship between a student and teacher has developed into a professional partnership that includes internship opportunities and advisory participation. Rivera will serve on the advisory committee for the new Engineering Technology program.
STS Aerospace supports the Engineering Program of Study at High Tech High, including the new Engineering Technology program, with a projected impact on more than 60 students.
“STS Aerospace is a model partner, who is committed, generous and focused on student success. The company’s guidance connects what we teach in the classroom to what students will see in the workplace,” said Gregory Simon, supervisor of Career and Technical Education at High Tech High School.
“Seeing students engaged and curious about what we do is inspiring. Partnering with the school helps us invest in the next generation of skilled professionals our industry needs,” said David Costa, director of operations at the STS Aerospace Lodi facility.
