Dalia Eldeeb, a Bayonne native, began her journey towards a career in medicine at the Hudson County Schools of Technology (HCST), where she enrolled in the Medical and Clinical Assistant program at County Prep High School. Through early exposure to rigorous coursework and hands-on learning, Eldeeb developed a strong academic foundation that would support her progression through multiple advanced degrees in healthcare.
Eldeeb credits the program at HCST with preparing her for the demanding academic path required to become a physician assistant. Courses such as Anatomy and Physiology and Pharmacology introduced her to complex medical concepts at an early stage, equipping her with the knowledge and discipline needed for long-term success in the medical field.
“The education I received at County Prep High School prepared me for the rigorous courseload that is required to become a PA,” said Eldeeb.
“Taking these courses at such a young age laid the foundation for knowledge that I would later need to pursue a career in medicine.”
After graduating high school in 2015, Eldeeb earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a minor in Health and Wellness from Stony Brook University in 2019. She went on to complete a Master of Public Health in Global Public Health from Rutgers School of Public Health in 2022, all while working on the frontlines as a healthcare professional during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Driven by her passion for medicine, Eldeeb continued her education at Stony Brook University Physician Assistant Program, where she earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2024. She now works as a vascular surgery physician assistant at Catholic Health Services- St. Francis Hospital, providing both inpatient care and surgical support.
“In this position, I am able to make a meaningful impact on my patients’ lives both through inpatient services and in the operating room,” said Eldeeb.
Eldeeb’s career path reflects the long-term value of early exposure to medical education and the role career and technical education can play in preparing students for advanced study and high-demand healthcare careers.
