Victor Haslett, a successful cyber security engineer at Lockheed Martin, values the education he received at Morris County Vocational Technical School (MCVTS) and says he uses the knowledge he gained from the school every day.
Haslett, a native of Butler, graduated from MCVTS’ Academy of Computer and Information Sciences in 2019. Here, he acquired a comprehensive overview of computer programming, internet technology, network security, and much more.
“I honestly do not think I would be the successful cyber security engineer I am today without MCVTS,” said Haslett. “The Academy of Computer and Information Sciences scraped the surface of many different concepts such as Game Design to the seven layers of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. This allowed me to test each of the fields of Computer Science to determine my passion.”
After graduation, Haslett pursued his education at the New York Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in computer science with a focus on network security and a Master of Science in cyber security.
“The exposure I had at MCVTS proved monumental in college, where the curriculum seamlessly aligned with my MCST background,” said Haslett. “I constantly drew upon the knowledge I acquired throughout those four years, and it continues to empower me in my current role.”
