Sean Keys loves his work in well drilling and boring for Craig’s Well Drilling, and says his education at Atlantic County Institute of Technology (ACIT) helped him discover his career passion.
Keys said the Automotive Technology program at ACIT provided him with thorough information on a variety of engines, which supported his entry into well drilling and boring.
“The transition into other areas or fields with engines was seamless and successful because of my experience and education with ACIT’s Automotive Technology program,” said Keys, a Galloway Township native.
After graduating from ACIT in 2020, Keys furthered his education by studying in the Diesel Tech program at Ohio Technical College. He earned two Automotive Service Excellence Certifications: a 609 HVAC Certification and a Cummins Engine Certification.
Only a few years removed from ACIT, he has already joined the ACIT Automotive Technology Advisory Board. He said he understands the value of exploring career interests and developing skills to pursue them. He happily shares his own post-secondary and work experiences with current students.
“ACIT’s Automotive Technology program and instructors provided me with the basics and fundamentals of all types of engines and the components in which they use to functionally operate,” said Keys. “When I graduated and went into the workforce, I was able to hit the ground running because of the background knowledge I had attained at ACIT.”
