Sussex County Technical High School honored Perona Farms in Andover for offering educational and employment opportunities to students.
Sussex County Technical High School has honored Perona Farms in Andover as its 2020 Business Partner of the Year.
The award is given annually to a county vocational technical school business partner for outstanding contributions to career and technical education. Business partners play a variety of roles, including serving on county vocational technical school program advisory boards, offering opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience, donating equipment, or serving as mentors and role models for students.
Perona Farms, a wedding venue is owned and operated by the Avondoglio Family, has been Sussex County landmark for over century.
Superintendent Gus Modla said the business has been a valuable asset to Sussex County Technical High School for years by providing students with employment opportunities, educational presentations, and occasions to be a part of community fellowships.
“Our students and instructors have experienced the benefit of their restaurant and catering culinary excellence,” Modla said. “Through their commitment to culinary education, community partnership, and ongoing initiatives to help others, our students have benefitted from their partnership with our school. The Avondoglio family’s commitment to business distinction and success, partnered with community partnership and support, make them an excellent partner and role model for our students.”
