Salem County Vocational Technical School district honors Atlantic Electric as their Business Partner of the year 2025

Salem County Vocational Technical School District proudly recognizes Atlantic City Electric, based in Mays Landing, New Jersey, and Carneys Point, New Jersey, as its 2025 Business Partner of the Year. Over the past two years, Atlantic City Electric has become an invaluable partner to the district’s Electrical Technology program, providing students with industry expertise, updated equipment, field-based learning opportunities and growing pathways for hands-on career training.

Electrical Technology instructor John Helsel emphasizes the tremendous value Atlantic City Electric has brought to the classroom. The company has supported curriculum development, assisted with updating tools and equipment, opened its facilities for student field trips and laid the groundwork for future cooperative education placements. Its guidance has strengthened the program’s alignment with real industry practices and expanded opportunities for students to experience electrical work firsthand.

Atlantic City Electric representatives also toured the Electrical Technology shop last spring and donated 15 electrical meters, including both analog and smart meters, for instructional use. The company serves on the Electrical Technology Program Advisory Committee, dedicating time to support curriculum decisions and provide ongoing professional insight. Plans are being developed to introduce a cooperative education program that will allow senior students to receive on-the-job training at Atlantic City Electric worksites, further deepening this partnership and expanding student opportunities.

“Atlantic City Electric is honored to be chosen as Salem County Vocational Technical School District’s Business Partner of the Year,” said Andrew Hendry, vice president and president of Atlantic City Electric. “This recognition reflects our shared commitment to hands-on learning and creating pathways to energy careers across South Jersey. We’re proud to partner with SCVTS and connect students with skills and opportunities that power our communities.”

Salem County Vocational Technical School District is honored to recognize Atlantic City Electric as its 2025 Business Partner of the Year.

“Atlantic City Electric has integrated into our Electrical Technology program in a number of ways. Each of those ways has greatly benefited our school and students over the past year. Company representatives have spent countless hours with the instructor by serving on our Program Advisory Committee, offering their expertise and counsel. Their generous donation of tools and materials and their professional demonstrations have created great opportunities for our students in the Electrical Technology program,” said Jason Helder, principal of the Salem County Career and Technical High School.
